Symposium Opening Remarks
At the inaugural Credit Data, Referencing & Innovation Symposium 2025, we were inspired by the opening remarks from our board Chairman, Elly Kibuuka-Mukasa (Executive Director, Metropol Uganda). He set the tone for the day with a powerful reflection on the importance of the symposium and collaboration:

In his address, Mr. Mukasa highlighted the importance of building a transparent, inclusive, and digitally driven credit ecosystem one strengthened by shared data, innovation, and collective responsibility.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗥𝗕𝗔’𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: The symposium’s theme reflected our mission to advance a transparent and inclusive credit information ecosystem.
𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹: Data becomes more reliable and impactful when institutions work together.
𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: Responsible data sharing and new approaches expand access to credit for individuals and businesses.
𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁: Stakeholders must commit to modern, data-driven practices.
𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: Regulators, financial institutions, partners, and international guests all play a vital role in strengthening the sector.
We are encouraged by the engagement, insights, and partnerships fostered during the symposium.
