CRBs Governance and Contracts Management Training
We successfully concluded the CRBs’ Governance, Regulatory and Contracts Management Training, bringing together key managerial personnel from Credit Reference Bureaus (CRBs) alongside expert trainers from Meritas Advocates and the Bank of Uganda (BoU).
Our Executive Director, Barbra Among Arinda, opened the session setting a collaborative and insightful tone for the day. This was followed by Aomu Mackay, Director of Non-Bank Financial Institutions at Bank of Uganda, who underscored the importance of regulatory compliance, the central role of the CRBA in uniting all CRBs, and key insights of BOU’s mandate in CRB operations.
Robert Apenya and Tumwesige Francis of MERITAS ADVOCATES led engaging sessions on contract drafting and safeguards, dispute resolution and litigation management.
Pamela Kahwa from Bank of Uganda addressed governance, contracting and regulatory engagement, stressing transparent operations, strong internal controls, regular risk assessments and systems security. Later, Sheba Kulabako emphasized data protection and compliance, statutory reporting, and Bank of Uganda’s ongoing commitment to supporting CRBs.
Participating CRBs were awarded certificates in recognition of their involvement in the training series that began earlier this year and concluded with today’s grand session.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Bank of Uganda, MERITAS ADVOCATES team and all participants Metropol Uganda, Creditinfo Uganda and Armada for your active engagement and commitment to strengthening governance, compliance and best practices in our sector.
